DIY Leather Wrap Bracelets. I found this amazing tutorial while browsing
Honestly...WTF.
These bracelets are super fun, creative, and just plain AWESOME! I've made several in all sorts of different colors, giving them to my closest friends kind of as a thank you for "being you." I don't know about you but I'm filled with the most wonderful feeling seeing people I care about light up about something I made for them.
So one day I'm driving in my car, sunroof open, the sun is shining, and I get a vision.
DIY Leather Wrap Flip-Flops.....PURE EXCITEMENT! Can you tell I'm totally ready for spring!
You'll need (measurements are for a ONE flip-flop)
A pair of inexpensive Flip-flops (I'm using Old Navy Faux-Leather Flip-Flop in Gold)
60 inches* of waxed cotton cord
12.5 inches* of brass ball chain or crystal chain
A pair of side cutters (to cut the metal brass chain and the cotton cord)
Super Glue (I prefer the super glue with the brush)
*Lengths will vary depending on the size of your sandal.
Wrap the wax cotton cord around sandal strap. Run the tip of the cord along the strap and then wrap the rest of the cord 3-4 times around the strap towards the middle of the flip flop. Doing this will assure the cord is secured to the flip-flop.
Place the brass ball chain against the strap of the flip-flop making sure the brass ball chain is against the cotton cord. Holding the brass ball chain against the strap, start wrapping the cotton cord tightly around the chain.
Continue wrapping cord around chain until you reach the other side of the flip-flop. Leave about two inches of cotton cord, you can cut any remaining cord with your side cutters.Wrap the remaining cord around flip-flop strap 4-6 times, then tie off the end. (I wrapped cotton cord loosely then feed the end through the last three loops and pulled tightly.) Use super glue to glue and secure the end of the cotton cord on each side of the flip-flop.
